Friends, Big Girl Hair, and carsickness
Kiah is quickly coming into her own. She had me rolling on the floor laughing last night. She was in a playful mood and Emi was in a mood to humor her. Kiah would pick a toy and prance around the room trying to entice a totally disinterested golden retriever into taking the bait. Emi would just sit there and watch, not moving. Kiah tried everything. She would drop the toy enticingly close to Emi ready to snatch it out of the way at the last minute. Still Emi just sat there, unblinking, as still as the sphinx itself. Kiah picked the toy back up and looked over at Emi. Emi exploded up from the dog bed and rushed Kiah. She flew around the table, stopping at my feet. Poor Kiah, it scared her really well, but only for a moment and she was right back at it, struggling for dominance over a small stuffed cat.
My baby is almost 5 months old and has decided that daily grooming is a requirement in our house. Since I worry about the amount of fluffy white fur that she has, I agreed to the ritual and every evening before bed we sit down with a brush and enjoy our visit to heaven. Since I brush every day and have been able to get a fair amount of fluff off her, she is definitely showing new wavy hair down her back. Emi did the same thing, I believe it is her adult coat coming in. I have to admit, though, that I will miss my ball of fur.
I was hoping that she would outgrow her habit of getting sick on car rides that take more than a half hour. I feel so sorry for her, I know it can’t be fun. Today I put her in the fr
ont seat to see if that would help. She didn’t get sick but then again we didn’t go very far. She was a little nervous on the ride over but calmed down on the way back. I don’t know if it is because she was so tired or if sitting in the front helped. I don’t think that letting her sit up front is the safest place for her though and will have to come up with a better solution in the future.
